access to the air filter , battery and oil reservoir ( located under the seat ) with just the push of a button . For oil changes I would prefer if there was a dedicated oil drain hole built into the skid plate , as I had to take it off every time I dropped the oil out to put fresh in . This would be an easy modification to do in the workshop with a hole-cutter or Dremel , but it ’ d be nice if
it came like that from the factory . It ’ s such a great feeling to be able to just top up with fuel without the normally associated hassle of mixing fuel and two-stroke oil . After three hours of riding , I topped up the oil reservoir with some Putoline TT scooter Injector oil just as a precaution . I reckon you could possibly stretch it to five hours of riding on a tank before needing a top-up . I found the stock expansion chamber metal to be quite soft , denting easily with rocks flicking up from the front wheel . A dented pipe normally comes as part of the package of owning a two-stroke , but it just seems a little easier to do on this bike .
THE SKINNY Having spent a good two years racing a Beta 200 when the new generation launched in 2020 , I ’ d say the 200 played a huge part in my progression as a racer , really helping my riding when getting back on a four-stroke ( smoother and better cornering ). If you ’ re after a bike that ’ s not only a blast but also helps your progression as a rider , I definitely recommend the Beta RR200 . It ’ s a performance machine that is sure to surpass any expectations you may have of what a smaller displacement twostroke is capable of .
