Kiwi Rider October 2024 Vol.2 | Page 58

It has been a while since I last had a go on Beta ’ s 200cc enduro bike , but it only took five minutes of riding to remind me how capable and fun the little Italian enduro machine is . I last tested the Beta RR200 for Kiwi Rider in 2022 and raced enduro on one for a couple of years , so was keen to see what I think of it now .

WHAT ’ S NEW On paper things haven ’ t changed all that much since the bike I rode in 2022 , but I ’ m not sure they really needed to - that 2022 bike really was fun . The changes from then until now are small , but I ’ ll go through them anyway . The one I rode is a 2023 bike , but there ’ s little change from that to 2024 ( with a new bike X-Pro lineup coming for 2025 ). First up , Beta says the seat foam has a different density and shape with a bigger support area for better comfort . The suspension on the RR models is by German manufacturer ZF Sachs ( on the higher spec Racing models it ’ s by KYB ). The forks have lighter outer fork tubes for more flexsmoother damping of rough terrain and improved comfort and sensitivity . The brakes are still Nissin calipers with Galfer Wave discs and braided hoses , but the 2024 model ’ s front brake hose gets a crimp at both ends , rather than just at the bottom , for better durability . Then there are the slightly updated graphics , a bit more angular this year with a different emphasis on the colours .
RIDING My first ride aboard the fresh-outof-the-crate machine was at a sand motocross
