X has a seat height of 820mm , which can be reduced to 795mm with the accessory low seat , a generously dedicated specification that offers exceptional functionality at a more competitive price . The 1200 X also utilises Marzocchi-supplied suspension , a 45mm USD cartridge fork and RSU with piggyback reservoirs and preload adjustability delivering 170mm wheel travel optimised for road riding . That is 30mm less travel than its predecessor , however , riders wanting more off-road ability can look to the 250mm on offer from the XE variant which also features comprehensive adjustability at both ends . Triumph has also saved punters money when it comes to the braking system of the X , which sports 310mm discs up the front clasped by Nissin calipers while the rear unit is a 255mm Nissin combo . As part of its move towards more affordability , the 1200 X loses the full-colour TFT display from the XE and XC , and instead gets a multifunction
LCD dash with a smaller TFT display integrated within . Triumph has added to the spec of the bike for the X , and it has gained some important technology that wasn ’ t present on its predecessor . Along with five riding modes , the Scrambler 1200 X gains cornering ABS and cornering-optimised Traction Control . Triumph has prepared more than 70 genuine accessories for the 2024 Scrambler 1200 range which promise to bring an even greater touring capability , ranging from heated grips , a 35-litre tail bag and high ‘ Dakar ’ screen , to a high-level front mudguard , handlebar brace and stainlesssteel engine bars . The complete rugged luggage system now offers 102 litres of total capacity , plenty for touring the backroads of NZ with room to spare ! Triumph Motorcycles New Zealand expects the new Scrambler 1200 X and XE to arrive in local dealerships around the end of the first quarter of 2024 , with local pricing yet to be set for the 2024 models .
