To set a level playing field , both the stock and MotoSR bikes had new Continental TKC80 tyres fitted and the ergos were adjusted to feel the same . Only the suspension was altered . On the road the MotoSR bike sits up in the stroke very nicely , leaving the majority of the travel available for braking , pot holes , corrugations and the like . The unnerving dive from heavy front braking is gone and the whole machine feels well composed , comfortable and reassuring . Skipping forward to the dirt trail stage of this test and some real throttle twisting , dirt roosting action . It was very quickly apparent that the MotoSR bike was ready for some action well above the standard T700 ’ s limits . Gone was the bottoming on heavier hits and the bite from the TKCs was improved ( because the superior suspension action had the tyres following to the terrain correctly and biting hard ). All in all , very confidence inspiring stuff and an excellent upgrade and decent bang for your hard earned buck – the Stage 1 upgrade comes in at a wallet-friendly $ 493 + gst .
