‘ THE MAN’ HAS FIVE
At his home round in Germany, Manuel
Lettenbichler delivered the goods, winning in style and nailing down the title with a round to spare, not that any of his competitors are expecting him to back off yet. Red Bull Factory Racing’ s ace has now won the title five times and his performance in front of a wildly cheering home crowd was vintage Manni fare. It was dominant. The always entertaining GetzenRodeo Prologue saw him just seven seconds adrift of the lead heading into the race proper in third. Obviously happy with his form after the prologue, he hit the course at pace in the opening race, winning the 12-lapper by over four minutes. Those minutes also gave him three bonus points in the title hunt. All fired up by the morning’ s race and an amazing crowd, Manni then went‘ Manni’ and won the afternoon race by eight minutes, lapping the rest of the field for good measure on the way. After the race, he said he was just so pumped to do well in front of his home crowd that he forgot about the title race and just rode and enjoyed what he described as‘ being at my very best today’.
