FIM OCEANA TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIP BELONGS TO...

After a strong start, the Australians regrouped and came right back at the Kiwi team in the closing stages but as close as it was at the wire, they fell just short. It was the Kiwis celebrating as the last section was completed by the last rider – it was that close. The riders for Team NZ were: Phil Shilton, Gabrielle Gundry, Hannah Rushworth, Jim Henderson and James Lawton. The points after three days of intense competition were Australia 37, New Zealand 38. A single point separating the teams in a classic Trans-Tasman battle. Video of the event that also hosted the NZ Nation Titles is available online and is a good watch.

GASGAS BACKS OFF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FACTORY TRIALS TEAM

As part of the restructuring of KTM AG Group, GASGAS will not be participating with a factory team in the FIM World Championship for 2026. The parent company is focusing on its core products but says it will support the teams that are campaigning GASGAS machinery. The decision was not taken lightly but trimming costs and mapping out the direction going forward has meant some tough calls had to be made, even if only for a season. Manufacture and support will continue unchanged as will development. In the season just finished, GASGAS were runner-up in both the prestigious Spanish series and the World title, so hopefully it is but a brief hiatus.
