Brno has run motorcycle races, since before the TT races at the Isle of Man. It later joined the World Championship series in 1965, making it second oldest GP venue, behind Assen. The undulating 5.4 km circuit is a rider favourite.

Brno is also home to Václav Holek, the Czech firearms engineer largely responsible for the World War II-era BREN gun. BREN was an amalgam of Brno, where the Zb vz. 26 was designed in the Zbrojovka Brno Factory, and Enfield, site of the British Royal Small Arms Factory. There’ s an indoor range where it may be possible to try one out.
