Next up was an Enduro type test with muddy turns and logs and a deep gravel turn, plus a large seesaw. I’ d never ridden over a seesaw before and didn’ t like the idea of it one bit. So, I thought bugger it, I’ ll go first Kiwi and get it over and done with. Mark had ridden them at Romaniacs and was adamant they were easy, just don’ t go too slow … Anyway, it wasn’ t an issue and the rest of the course was fun. All
of the Kiwis nailed this one … which couldn’ t be said for many other riders we watched – slippery, muddy grass, logs and road tyres on 220kg bikes don’ t always mix well, but it’ s the kind of stuff lots of Kiwis grow up riding. Getting to watch other teams was a very cool aspect of the event, because all the challenges were quite short and individually timed, we could watch many other rider / teams efforts as we lined up
