APRILIA’ S PHILLIP ISLAND MILESTONE

It was a big weekend for Aprilia. It was a milestone for the brand, as in win number 300. Although they have, at times, rolled under the radar, that win by Raul Fernandes was huge for them. In fact, it puts Aprilia at the top of the European brands for wins in the premier class, despite Marc Marquez dominating of late. They are not a newcomer to success at this level, it has just been a while between drinks. Marco Bezzecchi has shown that the Aprilia is competitive but few saw the Fernandez effect coming. In his rookie year, he rode with a mature head, making no mistakes and showing that the‘ bad boy’ can be good, so good. Although the title is done and dusted, the racing has been brilliant, despite MM93 recovering from injury and watching the rest of the grid fighting for individual race wins. After all Alex Marquez has secured second for the season, making it a sibling 1-2. It has been an interesting season so far and the end is in sight.
