W hile it was only a matter of weeks ago that dapper motorcycle folk donned their Sunday best and rode out to raise funds for men ’ s health issues , the organisers behind the annual Distinguished Gentleman ’ s Ride have announced the next event is only a few months away . It ’ s one of the largest fundraisers for men ’ s health worldwide , and for 2021 the Distinguished Gentleman ’ s Ride will now take place in May instead of its traditional late September running time . According to DGR founder , Mark Hawwa , the change of dates has in part been in response to Northern Hemisphere riders wanting warmer riding conditions . “ Due to popular demand , The Distinguished Gentleman ’ s Ride will now be hosted in May ”, he said . “ This represents a change to warmer weather for the northern hemisphere and for the south , well - let ’ s keep it real , it ’ s never really that cold . It also means The Distinguished Gentleman ’ s Drive will now be hosted on the last Sunday in September .” While the move puts the event closer to winter than some of us may like , with the majority of participants being based in the Northern Hemisphere it makes sense from an organisational standpoint for the organisers to follow the will of the masses . The Distinguished Gentleman ’ s Ride was established in Sydney , Australia in 2012 and has since grown into a worldwide affair raising over $ 35 million for men ’ s health charities along the way . The tenth running of the DGR will take place on May 23 , 2021 .
