CORMAC’ S COMEBACK

The latest round of the Moto3 World

Championship at Jerez, Spain saw the still sore Southlander make a really positive step in his recovery. Fighting for points early in the race, the lack of mobility and pain in his right leg and back saw him slip back as he lost feeling in his leg but until then, his pace was back on track. Buchanan leans oh his rear brake a lot to help the Moto3 machine turn in when the track is dry and the grip is good, so a dry race was fun but realistically, he may have placed better in wet conditions. In FP2, in fact, he was fifth, due to not using his rear brake nearly as much in the wet. Race day dawned and the plucky Kiwi knew he was in for a tough day at the office but set about getting into the fray from the get-go.
He was in the leading bunch but struggled to hold the tight line without feeling in that right leg and painful knee, unable to tell how much pressure he was applying to his rear brake lever. As the race wore on, Cormac was struggling but made a late charge within the group he had dropped back to and came home in 19th. Not a result on paper but a big step forward in his rehabilitation from that massive off, so Cormac was happy enough with his weekend. He knows when he is fit, he is as fast as anyone out there, so seems to be in a pretty positive space and his team are equally upbeat about his raid return to form. Hopefully the bruising will have reduced before MacAttack’ s next race, we cannot wait to watch the awesome racing that is Moto3.
