In response, the Prologue was shortened to prevent the bottle necks expected on K2. The best riders completed it in under three minutes, securing a top-ten start position. Notably, Rowan Watt matched Lauder for second equal, while Kaleb Ace narrowly slipped under the three-minute mark. Yeoman did the business by 1 second. The race began smoothly, with riders navigating climbs, descents, and bogs before entering a tight pampas-lined track that threatened to snag foot pegs and brake levers.
