name your bike, read VIN, engine number, fuel consumption, and get a manual, and you can bind or unbind the bike to you. No one else can ride the bike unless you give them your phone, or press the share button for their phone number. It’ s remarkable, really. There are video tutorials on how it all works too, so while it appears daunting at first, in practice it’ s very user friendly and amazingly secure. I looked for the indicator lights on the screen and then noticed the light bars mounted inside the handlebars, which fan up on each side to show the indicator is operational. Nice touch, but I’ d hate to have to fix it if the light blew … Ride tech is good too with braking supplied by J. Juan( a Bremboowned company) front and rear, KYB single rear suspender with spring and rebound damping adjustment, 43mm inverted split function forks, also fully adjustable. I found
the ride quite hard at factory settings. There’ s a hint of niggle on short sharp stuff. I liked the addition of an up / down auto-shifter, but found it a trifle argumentative from time to time. I had new boots and found that the slightest bump upwards onto the lever engaged the auto-clutch function and I got annoyed thinking the engine was misfiring on the first couple of instances( adjusting the lever might fix this). Another minor problem was the reflective nature of the big screen; with high midday sun, I found it difficult to avoid the blazing glare, but worse, my polarised glasses completely blacked out the display. Lowering the visor helped a little, but I’ d advise against wearing polarised glasses with this unit.
FIT AND FINISH Finish-wise this bike is as good as any modern offering and better than some. The seat is nicely finished with
