CHASSIS The frame is steel tube with a conventional 41mm cartridge-type fork at the front attached to the 25.5-degree steering head , and at the rear is a double-sided swingarm with twin shocks . Handling-wise , the T120 is quite neutral , striking a good balance between agility in the turns and stability at higher speeds . At 236kg wet , with the 14.5 litre fuel tank full , the Triumph feels a pretty solid lump in use with plenty of weight on the nose . The handlebars are a decent height , but not particularly wide . A little more width would reduce the muscle power needed for all manoeuvring . At 790mm the seat is a very accommodating and comfortable height for both rider and pillion and will definitely add appeal for shorter riders . In keeping with the old school style , the dash has attractive twin analogue dials showing km / h and rpm . LCD warning lights and general information is inserted in to the dials . Braking performance is good with twin 310mm discs up front slowed by Brembo two-
piston floating calipers . At the rear a single 255mm disc , this time with Nissin two piston floating caliper does the business . Stopping power and braking feel is very good for the class and in keeping with the design of machine , but if you ’ re coming at the T120 from something much more sporty then you might find them a little lacklustre .
MASTER OF STYLE Overall , the Triumph T120 is a master class of retro style and a damn good ride too . Modern and yet dripping with old world class and sophistication it is a true gentleman / lady ’ s bike , and as you might expect from Triumph , there ’ s a huge selection of over 110 genuine Triumph accessories to fully customise the T120 Bonneville . It is a solid and capable performer with enough ‘ edge ’ to offer genuine excitement either gliding around town looking smart or heading to sign off your next business venture . And don ’ t forget – it is the perfect mount for the Distinguished Gentleman ’ s Ride .
