KTM BACK WITH A SPORTS BIKE
It ’ s been some time since KTM had an offering in the fully-faired sportsbike market , but that is about to change in 2025 with the announcement of the next member of the new 990 family - the 990 RC R . It ’ s been over fifteen years since KTM last produced an authentic road-homologated performance sports bike for the masses . Now the company is finally harnessing all the knowledge gained through their efforts in MotoGP to bring the KTM 990 RC R to life . In recent years we ’ ve seen KTM only playing in the world of limited production track-only weapons in the form of the RC8C series , but the 990 RC R is set to take up where the original RC8 left off nearly a decade ago . The prototype will appear as a wildcard entry in non-point scoring outings across select European Supersport series ’, igniting anticipation among fans . KTM believes in developing this newcomer to their stable in the most “ Ready to Race ” way possible - through racing .
Set to roll off the Mattighofen Production line in early 2025 , KTM says the 990 RC R will have a dedicated Supersport persona but will be homologated for street use . That means the usual KTM traits of ferocious racing DNA and peak performance while also balancing the practical demands of the road .
