SERVICING Service intervals are decent and set at every 10,000km . A boon for adventure riders who get into dusty conditions , typical of our gravel roads , is the ease of changing the air filter - something that needs the tank removing on some machines ( Ducati ’ s Desert X is particularly bad in that respect ). Access is at the front of the tank , behind the steering head .
RIDING On road the Tuareg is quick enough , very smooth and comfortable . The screen offers good weather protection ( along with the hand guards ). The engine is responsive with good top-end and torque considering its capacity . As a comparison it feels quicker than a Yamaha T7 and not as punchy as a KTM 690 or Husky 701 , but much smoother . The riding position is commanding and confident . Like a dirt bike , the Tuareg can be gripped strongly with legs and hands while standing , offering a decent attack position for off-road obstacles . Steering is light and accurate , no doubt helped by a sensible 26.7-degree steering head angle that offers a nice balance between stable and agile .
