KIWI RIDER MAY 2018 VOL.2 | Page 84

Smooth; frugal; great chassis;  it’s an adventure bike. Not much low down grunt. have too much light at night. What else? Well, the mirrors are good, the dash is attractive and informative, all the controls are nicely free moving and the brakes are fine without being startling. It even comes standard with a 12-volt power supply in the cockpit to power a GPS or for phone charging duties. Suzuki offers a centre-stand as an extra, which would make chain maintenance is a doddle. The Suzuki 250 V-Strom is an excellent machine and I absolutely enjoyed riding it. For the commuter and 84KIWI RIDER around towner the V-Strom is an excellent choice with its super fugal engine, which Suzuki claims will give 500km per fill. The rider is also blessed with comfort, weather protection and a chassis that offers several more options over a normal scooter/road bike... hop off that curb in to a park or launch from those pesky judder bars if the mood takes you. Then, in the weekend set your sights on horizons further afield and enjoy all the amazing back roads and scenery New Zealand has to offer.
