that ties in with the overall look. It also has a solid passenger grab rail that strongly resembles my T140V grab rail, go figure!
There’ s not a lot to the Speedmaster on the tech front other than the usual stuff. It has a Rain riding mode which is nice. The instrument cluster is easy to read and the features are simple to use. On the side of the instruments is a USB port to charge your phone or power your radar unit. The lighting is LED and the headlight throws a great beam which works well on our dimly lit rural roads, as well as keeping you seen on city streets.
THE SKINNY Overall, the new Speedmaster is a well built, well optioned cruiser, with almost endless customisation options. A bike with this sort of styling suits a certain type of chap or chapette, and it grew on me very quickly despite going into the test expecting a different result. That super strong 1200cc motor never fails to impress and Triumph has shown it has a pretty good fuelmapping arsenal to make for a great ride. The Speedmaster is a great option for those looking for that classic look with solid handling and a bullet proof power plant with the benefits of a lower seat height, a whole heap of comfort and solid reliability. If you’ re in the market for a cruiser that you’ ll enjoy on every ride and your mates will think is pretty damn cool, the Speedmaster could be for you.
