digging , and it turns out we have a Rabaconda distributor here in little ol ’ NZ . Dold Industries , the same team who brings us Ventura Luggage , and distributes Mitas Tyres among other brands . Long story short , I bought a Rabaconda Street Changer for my garage and I ’ ve been putting it through its paces . Last time I tried to change the tyres on my T7 in my garage without a machine , it took me and a mate around about six hours and we didn ’ t have a pump big enough to seat the bead , so ended up giving up and took the bike to a workshop . That ’ s my benchmark . Six hours and still not getting it done .
THE PROCESS The system is pretty simple ... wheel out , remove valve and deflate tyre , place wheel on Rabaconda spindle , adjust the bead breaker , break the bead , flip the tyre over and break the bead on other side , lube the beads with bead grease , install duck head , use a tyre lever to put the bead over the duck head , insert the bead beaker arm into ratchet and drag the duck head around the rim to remove the tyre , remove the duck head , remove the inner tube , replace the duck head and then remove the second bead .
