TOUGH TIME FOR TRIUMPH IN TEXAS 250SX
Triumph ’ s new TF 250-X shows promise , but the team can ’ t escape one harsh reality of racing - the rider is the most fragile part of the competitive package … The second round of the Monster Energy AMA 250SX East championship showed speed and promise for the Triumph TF 250-X but ended prematurely with unfortunate injuries to Triumph Racing ’ s two riders . In only the second-ever Supercross race for Triumph Racing , the event got off to a tough start with Supercross rookie Evan Ferry # 751 frustratingly ruled out with a right shoulder injury following a fall during the event ’ s press day . This meant it was down to Jalek Swoll to fly the flag alone . Overall qualifying saw Swoll place the ninth fastest time , just over a second down from the quickest rider . Heading into the 250 Heat 1 where the top nine progress directly to the Main , # 33 Swoll
92 KIWI RIDER was able to take full advantage of the Triumph TF 250-X ’ s performance out of the gate and grab the holeshot . Ultimately placing fifth at the flag , Swoll maintained his momentum and assured his place in the Main . Looking to avoid a repeat of the first-round gate drop in Detroit when the Triumph riders were the victims of a first-turn pile-up , it was a clean start for most of the pack . Unfortunately for Swoll , his race was over at the end of the first lap when he crashed heavily after contact with another rider . The medical team attended to him before he was eventually able to stand with help . With both riders sidelined with injuries , it is an undoubted setback for the official Triumph supercross campaign with both riders missing training time and possibly a delay to being 100 % race fitness . “ It was a rough weekend , with Evan going out
