IT ’ S E-LECTRIFYING !
OK , so maybe not huge here in our wee corner of the globe but like it or not , E-bikes exist and more of them will exist as the technology rapidly improves . We have full-sized dirt bikes available here but in Europe , they have a junior E-Motocross series for six to eight year-olds running for a fifth season . Supported by GasGas , all riders compete on GasGas MC-E 5 bikes , keeping that playing field nice and level . It will also run alongside FIM World Motorcross Championship events in Europe , and the UK , now that Britain ’ s technically not in the ‘ EU ’ anymore , so you ’ ll see the little gunnas able to meet their heroes and talk racing . For the young ‘ uns , there is no barrier to the concept like there is for those who cut their teeth on internal combustion bikes , be that 2 or 4-stroke , so it is something that the new generation are definitely watching and are interested in the technology , just like they are fixated with their phones . That being said , any kid watching is likely to want a new motocrosser , be that E or not E rather than the latest model phone , so it is to be encouraged , yes ? From afar , we will watch and see . Who knows , maybe we will see such a class here soon …
