DE WOLF DOMINATES ARGENTINA ’ S MX2

CHAMPIONSHIP OPENER

Kay De Wolf started his season off with the MX2 win in Argentina and his new teammate , Liam Everts , banked some useful points in fourth place . The round marks the 40th anniversary of such events in Argentina and also celebrated a brand spanking new purpose-built 1650m circuit that was new to all involved . Just when they had the new track down pat , the thunderstorms changed it up and they were back to square one and instinctive riding was the name of the game . De Wolf had a massive one-minute lead by three-quarters through the first race , after claiming the Fox Holeshot before managing his lead and risks to coast home nine seconds clear . Race two was less tidy and he had to work through traffic after a poor start before coming off , remounting and doing it all again , getting up to sixth and then Langenfelder fell on the final lap , seeing De Wolf promoted to fifth and the round win . Everts also benefitted from Langenfelder ’ s demise and secured third place , good enough for a fourth place overall .
