Iannone shone at the first round in 2024 but was inconsistent whereas Petrucci was more often than not somewhere near the front and it was that consistency which netted him the independent riders ’ championship . Both are back for 2025 in the same teams and Barni Spark have expanded into a two-ship outfit in 2025 and Petrux is joined by Yari Montella , who rode for Barni Spark in World Supersport in 2024 , finishing third in the championship . Sam Lowes had a challenging first season in WorldSBK on the Marc VDS Ducati in 2024 but the team stuck with him for 2025 as the potential is clearly there . The Ducati appears to be the weapon of choice for the independents and , whilst Michael Ruben Rinaldi lost his seat at Motocorsa Racing Ducati , the team is still in the game with Brit Ryan Vickers , who finished fifth in the 2024
British Superbike Championship , as their rider . Incidentally , Rinaldi is still in the paddock but riding World Supersport for GMT-94 Yamaha this year .
SATELLITE TEAMS As far as satellite teams go , the Bonovo Racing BMW team , who ran Garrett Gerloff and Scott Redding on BMW last year , has switched to Ducati and retained Redding whilst Gerloff went to what is now the official Kawasaki entry in WorldSBK but is effectively the Puccetti Kawasaki team under a different name . Yamaha satellite was once again formed out of Remy Gardner and Dominique Aegerter on the GYTR GRT WorldSBK Yamahas . Both are strong performers and could pull off some surprise results this year .
