DIRT NEWS

LAWRENCE BROTHERS OUT OF ACTION

With Hunter Lawrence injuring his shoulder and elbow , his season is done , with racing off the cards and no bike time until at least the end of May . He has damaged the Labrum ( surrounding the socket ) and has several fractures in his humerus , which , despite the name , is anything but funny when it is damaged . The option of rest and leaving it to heal was considered but surgery gave a surer outcome of a full recovery of movement and strength , so , despite the recovery times being much the same , he has undergone successful surgery and is now recovering and planning the next season already , so he is expected to be back in the dominant form he was in before his untimely crash right from the first gate drop of the new season . Meanwhile , Jett Lawrence ’ s recovery is going well and he is expecting to be 100 percent fit and focused for next season as well .

It has been a torrid season for the brothers but the previous couple of seasons have been nothing short of monumental as the Australians stormed the U . S . A and have been the new benchmark . “ We ’ re all very sorry for Hunter , especially considering the effort he and the team have put into this season ,” said Brandon Wilson , Manager of Racing and Advertising at American Honda . “ Following some early challenges , Hunter was showing solid speed and even better promise ; once he ’ s back to full strength , we know he ’ ll be out there again , fighting hard near the front . Racing can be cruel , and there ’ s no denying that 2025 has been particularly tough on our team so far , with all our riders affected by injury in some way . That said , we ’ ve had a couple of years of unprecedented success , and we ’ ll work hard together to get back on that trend soon .”
