IS THERE TRUTH TO THE RUMOUR YOUR DAD IS A WEAPON ON A BIKE? He was, and still is! He’ s been ripping around on the Stark Varg at home with it set to 80hp! Swinging off it, I had to tell him to slow down because he’ s an old bugger now- it worried me following him because I was strugglng to keep up in the forest! ENDURO GP IS A DREAM FOR MANY KIWI KIDS, BUT IS GNCC ON YOUR RADAR? I would love to at some point! I just haven’ t stuck my finger in the cookie jar yet to figure out the money side of things over there. YOU’ VE RIDDEN IN STUNNING PLACES, WHERE’ S FAVOURITE? Tokoroa Forest. It’ s the best place in the world. WHAT DO YOU DO OFF THE BIKE? I don’ t really know! I’ m really just in a constant circle of focusing on what I can do to improve my riding on the bike. Other than that, I enjoy being home and hanging with friends at the pub. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE NZ RACING SCENE? I think we need more support via Socials,
podcasts, all the simple things, we have such a strong rider base, me, Liam, Cole, and now Ryan, who are all riding well over seas at the moment. We need more exposure from all of the industries inside New Zealand. It all stacks up and the more people see it, the more people want to give it a shot. The more riders who give it a shot, the more champions we will create. I wish there was some kind of pathway, funding and guidance to help. The lack of support is unbelievable. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, ANY THANKS? I’ d love to thank my family, the countless hours spent in the back of dad’ s white BT50 travelling around NZ, the people at home who have helped me along the way sowing the seed throughout my journey growing up, my team and the people that support me here. CAN WE BUNG A CAMERA ON YOUR LID FOR SOME NZ FOOTAGE NEXT TIME YOU’ RE HOME? UNCLE VEG WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT! I would love to do some more GoPro footage, I’ m actually trying to work something out at the moment. It’ s just a bit stressful trying to whack one on your helmet mid race!
