THE SKINNY The Suzuki GSX-8TT is a very attractive proposition for the potential road bike buyer. It would make an excellent commuter, a nice touring machine and a fun weekend warrior blaster. It is decently quick without being worryingly so and is happy to ride at any pace- fast or slow. It has a confidence-inspiring manner in all regards. The ergonomics are nice and comfortable, the controls are all light and easy to use, the braking is powerful yet easily controlled. Even the electronics are straight forward to use, don’ t require a tech degree to decipher and are very effective. The main thing driven home when on the 8TT is the balance it strikes between being quick, effective and exciting- all in an easygoing package. There are much faster bikes out there but, quite frankly, they can be scary. Sure, yes, I am showing my age, but I know around Auckland where more and more rural roads have a 60km / h limit and traffic is heavy, super powerful bikes become a little illogical. Back to the point, the Suzuki GSX-8TT is a genuinely cool machine and a wise choice to have parked in your shed.
