DIRT NEWS

HERLINGS VICTORIOUS IN FRANCE

It was a hard-fought battle and with the competition so tight it was a case of balancing the need to win with the reality of not being able to afford a single mistake. The pressure was certainly on in the last round of the MXGP series. Herlings’ 1-2-1 results see him just two points in arrears in his hunt for the title with his Honda HRC Petronas team. With Herlings on 284 points and Lucas Coenen on 286, there is a gap growing back to third with Romain Febvre on 231.

Herlings seems to be revelling in the challenge as the young Belgian KTM ace is just so fast but Herlings is a seasoned campaigner at the other end of an amazing career and really wants that elusive trophy before father time calls time and the body starts to weary. At the beginning of the season he openly said it was now or never and add into the mix a new team and there may be no one else that could pull it off but this is Jeffrey Herlings, not some mere mortal..
