IOMTT REAR VIEW...

Sure, the weather won the final race in this year’ s IOMTT as strong winds and looming rain saw the grand finale, as in the Superbike showdown, cancelled. It was, however, deemed the only smart option by both the riders and the officials, as the armchair critics couldn’ t feel the crosswinds, let alone imagine trying to compensate for such things as you race in and out of hedgerows and stone buildings at warp speed on narrow Manx streets. Despite the premature end to racing, there were some standout performances. And by that we mean performances like Mitch Rees posting a 127mph lap on his first sojourn to the island. Ranking as the fifth fastest newcomer ever at the prestigious event, Rees now has many of the regulars watching and hoping he comes back with the knowledge gained from this year. Great mate and Superbike TT winner, Davey Todd, had a successful meeting, winning the earlier Superbike race on his BMW, although not as smooth as he was hoping, struggling to match Michael Dunlop in the Supersport class, where there is much debate about the pros and cons of the different capacity ceilings for different engine configurations works at the TT. ECU, weight and rev restrictions give parity on road racing circuits and seem to work well but doubts about the effective parity on the fast and hilly Isle Of Man are likely to be a bone of contention for organisers going forward. As the dust settled, Michael Dunlop had secured more wins and podiums, now having 32 TT wins, eclipsing every other rider. From a remarkable yet tragic racing family dynasty,‘ The Bull’ as he is often called, has firmly etched his

name into the place that is the Isle Of Man as the greatest‘ Road Racer’ of all time. Only 11 and a bit months to go … IOMTT 2026.

A POLISHED CLASSIC

Royal Enfield has released the updated

Classic 350 in new colours and with updated LED lighting and electronics. Topping the new options is the Emerald Chrome edition, which gets full LED lighting, where the others get partial fitment, depending on spec requested. Starting from $ 7990 plus ORC for the base model and increasing step by step through seven tiers, the 350cc engine remains unchanged but the new livery actually looks more classic than ever. Available on first-in first- served basis as stock arrives, the full chrome edition is expected to be in hot demand.
