The surprise arrival of the Southwards Motor Museum ’ s 1924 Douglas motorcycle during the evening brought tears to the late Bill O ’ Brien ’ s daughter as it was wheeled in while being interviewed . As a young girl Gail O ’ Brien worked on club legend Bill ’ s old Douglas and fastidiously cleaned it after every event . Very patina , it still looks like it was raced last weekend . Then it was down to business with competitors and club helpers coming onto the stage in the decade they raced or were a club official . This is where some of the funniest and most entertaining stories emerged from current and former members , including Ginger Molloy , Trevor Discombe , Hugh Anderson , Greg Power , Steve Parker , Allan Webb , Bruce Weeks , Roy Long and many , many others . We thank them all . All the while old scrambles and road race movies from the late Alan McLaren played on the big screen to add to the serene atmosphere .
