MV AGUSTA RUSH 1000
M
V Agusta is moving forward with its latest
drag-racing inspired model, the Rush 1000,
which enters production this month.
Limited to just 300 examples worldwide,
the mean-looking Rush 1000, with its 208hp
inline four engine (which is boosted to 212hp
with the optional Racing Kit) and a top speed
of over 300km/h, is in MV’s words “a model
aimed at those who do not fear to stand out
from the crowd, as the style and components
are appropriately focused on emphasising the
concept of a hyper naked “beast”.
“With the production of the Rush 1000
starting this coming June, we are right on
track with respect to our five-year industrial
plan announced a few weeks ago”, says MV
Agusta CEO Timur Sardarov.
The Rush 1000 takes design cues seemingly
from both the Brutale family as well as highspeed
cycling, the Rush 1000 features an
aerodynamic rear wheel cover made from
carbon fibre, the purpose of which is primarily
to reduce the coefficient of drag, but also as per
MV’s “Motorcycle Art” mantra doubles as a clear
design statement.
As you would expect from a wild hyper naked,
MV has packed the Rush 1000 full with the latest
technology to ensure it is on the cutting edge.
The eight-level traction control and launch
control systems help manage the bike’s
acceleration, an up/down quickshifter and a
wheelie control system.
Other top-tier components include Öhlins EC
suspension units with electronic control bolted
on to the aluminium and steel trellis frame –
both have been adapted from the Brutale 1000
RR – with braking provided by Brembo Stylema
calipers which are backed up by Bosch 9 Plus
Race ABS.
The optional Rush Racing Kit is composed of
an extremely lightweight titanium dual exhaust
silencer system with a dedicated carbon fibre
cover with billet CNC machined inserts as well
as an engine ECU with a specifically developed
engine control system map to increase and
optimise the power. Also included is a unique
carbon fibre passenger seat cover.
As you’d expect from a high-performance
special edition Italian motorcycle, the price point
is equally special. Current recommended retail
for the NZ market is set at $64,990, but with only
300 available worldwide that’s a price we’re sure
will see the NZ allotment snapped up.
