After WorldSBK Round 7 at Misano, there was a real feeling that perhaps Aruba. it Ducati’ s Nicolò Bulega could, and perhaps would, win every single race of the season. This would have been an outstanding personal performance but it wouldn’ t necessarily reflect well on the series. Variety is, after all, the spice of life- and probably why most of us watch the racing anyway.
RECORD-MAKING WIN STREAK ENDS Round 8, at England’ s Donington Park, nestled under East Midland Airport’ s flightpath, was the next opportunity for Bulega’ s challengers to bring his record-breaking 25-consecutive win streak( 21 in 2026 and four at the tail end of the 2025 season) to an end. Bulega did what Bulega does in qualifying and snatched pole position in the dying minutes … and then something seismic happened. OK, maybe seismic is over-egging it, but Iker Lecouna( Bulega’ s Aruba. it teammate) starting from 3rd on the grid, took Race 1 by the throat and won it with a masterful display of how to
