Before anyone gets all overexcited, Valentino was there to catch up with some other legends and reunite with his beloved 2020 Yamaha YZR-M1 that he races so successfully and let the beast howl up the hill. The reception he got was fitting for a man who changed the entire game. Fan or not, there is no denying that MotoGP has two parts – the pre Rossi # 46 era and the modern era post his brilliance. And that brilliance wasn’ t just when the lights went out on the track. Rossi was different. He was special in many ways. Deliberately marketable, easy to join the legions of fans, his time in the sport changed so many dynamics. And for those at the Festival, Vale was back. Rossi was there with the likes of Michael Dunlop and John McGuinness, as well as a bunch of famous car folk. The highlight for many was Rossi riding‘ that bike’ up the hillclimb with an entourage of Monster Energy motorcycle stars in the shadow of the Great One. And no, he is not planning to make a comeback. Happy racing cars nowadays.

Very few companies celebrate‘ the ton’ and for very few is it as relevant. The line in the sand has always been the stuff of legends and the Italians sure know how to throw a party. Famous riders, a slew of celebs, loads and loads of exotic machinery and legions of faithful fans partied for days – a week actually, along with the locals who live, breathe and are part of the Ducati history.
