O2 RUSH FILTERS

REVIEW: Brendan Abel
It’ s essential that your dirt bike air filter, you know that messy part of owning a dirt bike, is kept clean. A clean, well-oiled filter is essential if you’ ve got any designs on maintaining the longevity and performance of your bike. There’ s a few brands out there on the market that do the job well. One of my personal favourites is the O2 Rush brand. These filters can be bought both dry or pre-oiled( for the lazy or should I say“ time poor” amongst us). O2 Rush isn’ t a new name in the game. Some 40-plus years of experience in Australia’ s harsh conditions, might suggest they know a thing or two. The company’ s filters feature a shark tooth style rib which increases surface area over a standard type filter meaning they breathe more air, and have a larger surface area to catch all the nasty stuff that’ s intent

on damaging your engine- the ribs really seem to catch more crap, and there aren’ t large patches of dirt as it’ s spread out more. They also feature a flexible glue on the seams which reduces the chance brittle cracking, so they don’ t fall apart. Oil and cleaner doesn’ t make the glue fail with age as easily. The filter base is soft and has a rubbery feel, giving an excellent seal against the filter cage. Most dirt bikes are catered for, a well as a large range of adventure bikes and ATVs too. Next time you’ re in the market for a new air filter give an O2 Rush a go, you might just like it. They’ re a similar price to the usuals, sometimes cheaper depending on the bike. You’ re also supporting a‘ local’ brand as well as filtering your air as best you can.
