MX2 BATTLE STAYS TIGHT

MX2 saw its share of drama in Portugal.

Sasha Coenen, the series leader, had an off in Race 1, forcing him to make amends as hard as he could to go from picking himself off the deck in 16th, to finish a decent 6th and salvage some precious points. In the second moto, it was business as usual, running with the leaders. Not a win but a safe and solid third to keep the pack at bay in the points war. The real story, though, is that Farres is on fire! Triumph were still partying long after Guillem Farres took out the MX2 honours in Portugal. With a perfect weekend, scoring the win in both races and standing on the top
step for the overall round victory, who could blame the British brand team for being in celebration mode? After the wins in Portugal, Farres found himself trailing Coenen by only 22 points. Then the paddock shifted to South Africa... And, well... Farres is riding with that winning swagger that always helps going into the next round. And that’ s exactly what went down. Farres had a perfect weekend, coming away with 1-1, while Coenen could only hit 2-6. This brings the Frenchman and the Triumph team to within 14 points of Coenen in the outright. MX2 is shaping up to be a battle-royale.
