PEDRO ACOSTA TO SHARE PIT WITH MARC MARQUEZ

Ducati Lenovo Teammates next year, the

Spanish duo will represent the Italian brand in what some see as a controversial choice. To some, an all-Spanish rider team in the Factory livery is akin to blasphemy but to the rest it makes perfect sense. Marc is nowhere near a spent force, in fact he is likely to be one of Acosta’ s biggest challengers and Acosta is part of the future as well as a force of nature at present, especially after surgery the other day. Acosta has been the glimmer of hope for KTM of late but despite some good but inconsistent results, it has not been the ride of Pedro’ s dreams. And Ducati have some serious domestic competition now from their neighbours, Aprilia, so they decided it was a choice made on talent, not passport nationality.

OTTANTESIMO? VESPA’ S 80TH CELEBRATION SPECIAL

Naturally, since the Vespa was first launched in 1946, there will be 1946 of the very collectable model, based upon their fabulous Vespa GTS 310, produced. A sporty edition, it has a single-seat look, with a shroud over the rear seat when not in use( but handy, just in case …) the machine has a one-off, three-dimensional graphic, bespoke colourway and a numbered commemorative plaque that confirms its authenticity should anyone question you for any reason. It also comes with a matching helmet, resplendent in the matching livery with the 3-D graphic. And 5-inch TFT dash, keyless operation, ABS, connectivity, all of the goodness. Dripping with extra-specialness as well as the regular Vespa specialness, you will have to order, grovel, whatever to get one. You will also have to strike fast.

Sure, not breaking news, it has been rumoured for some time. Tuning in to the light entertainment provided by the lads at MotoPG, it was in their slightly irreverent podcast weeks ago. Shot lads.
