emergencies arise. Fuelling at the Gull station at Atiamuri, the riders were buzzing about the fantastic gravel roads and the Challenge section riders all said they were glad they’ d fitted knobbly tyres. The final Challenge section was 25km of groomed trails at Pukemara Dirt World. The tracks were pristine and beautiful to ride, with some doing two big laps. From there it was straight back up the highway to Lakes Ranch, where many had a dip in the hot pools before the socialising, dinner and prizegiving- which is always entertaining. After breakfast on the Sunday it was time to pack up and head home. Planning is underway for the next one already, so stay tuned for more information.
