MAC-ATTACK AT MUGELLO
The roll of the dice that is often lurking in racing made it a tough but solid day for Cormac Buchanan, ending up with a solitary point for fifteenth after what was a race with so many ups and downs. Struggling in qualifying, Buchanan started in P23 but knew he would have better pace on race day as the wind was not expected to be as strong as it was in qualifying. Making his way quickly up to P18 and in amongst the front freight train, a conscious decision to play it smart like the last round and save tyre for the laps that matter most, he was back on track. Unfortunately with the tight racing, a few
avoiding manoeuvres from others in the pack saw him having to make an evading move and lost the slipstream of the group. In Moto3, it is sure hard to make it across the gap and despite good lap times, that was it for the Southland lad’ s podium hopes – until next round in The Netherlands( yesterday by the time you read this).
