SIDECHAIRS Seven outfits started the weekend with two competing in A Grade and the rest in B Grade . The A graders rode most of the obstacles that were in the clubman sections and this was the 16th win for Paul Jackson and Glenn Smith . Kendall McDonald and Hamish Barnett were a close second . Veteran pair Dave and Brian Chambers won the B Grade ahead of Hadrian and Jason Roberts . John Ross and his daughter Amelia , who were competing in the chairs for the first time , were third . The Kaikoura also has classes for Juniors , Women and Twin Shocks . Zack Furniss was the best junior , 15-year-old Connor Newton ( Manawatu-Orion ) was second and Luke Pearce ( Ixion ) was third . Pioneer ’ s Gabby Gundry topped the list of six women . Runner up Christine Thompson rode an Electric Motion and was the best rider on an electric bike in the trial .
