SUSPENSION I initially thought the suspension would be average , at best . Being non-adjustable , you get what you get , right ? There ’ s not much you can do with a set of non-adjustable forks , short of changing spacers or fork oil . Coming from years riding first Generation MT07s , where the suspension is almost an afterthought . I said in my first story about the GSX-8S that I would likely be changing the forks if I were to buy this bike . But after around 3000km I don ’ t have a bad thing to say about the suspension . It does a really good job of keeping the wheels on the ground , it ’ s firm where you want it , and has give where it ’ s needed . It is slightly abrasive on my rear end after 200km in the saddle , but its not a touring bike , so I ’ ll forgive it . If you keep on top of your suspension servicing , you may find it sufficient and not need to replace anything .
TRACTION CONTROL You know what else does a really good job of keeping the wheels on the ground ? Well , the front wheel anyway ... the Traction Control . I don ’ t even notice it kicking in , but it truly does an amazing job of keeping the front down and helping get the power to the ground without flipping me off the back . Pulling away at a green light is awesome , I can forget about trying to keep the front down , and just pile on the power . That coupled with the quick-shifter , means you can absolutely wail on the throttle , clicking through the gears just before redline without a care in the world . If you have never ridden a bike with a quickshifter , it does require some recalibration of your brain , but once you get the hang of it , it ’ s quite
