The 450XC has some serious horsepower . I ’ ve ridden a few 450s and thought I knew what to expect , but I ’ ve never ridden one that I felt I had to be so cautious on . The hardest part is keeping the front down and with the hit being quite abrupt , it ’ s hard to be smooth and keep the front weighted in corners . Softening the forks two clicks on the compression and a change to the engine mapping transforms it . The power delivery was a lot smoother , but there was still plenty of grunt . Adjusting the forks makes a big improvement on the braking bumps . With a few tweaks the KX450XC is a pretty complete package .
