BMW’ s all-new R1300GS Adventure has presence like no other adventure machine on the market today. It’ s big and bold in an industrial way, and more than a tad masculine; not only to look at, but to ride as well. The new design is as striking as the riding experience is impressive.

DOHC, flat twin 107kW( 145hp) @ 7750rpm 149Nm @ 6500rpm
Six speed, shaft 870-890mm 19F / 18R-inch, tubeless 269kg fuelled
The chassis is a big step-up from the 1250. The whole front end in general is bigger and stronger, the steering feels more planted and accurate and plusher riding. The shock action from both ends is more plush too, resulting in a more comfortable ride on poor surfaces. Dynamic Suspension Adjustment( DSA) is a step up from the previous Dynamic ESA, now offering spring rate / stiffness adjustment as well as damping. This allows for better ridingstyle adjustment and allows the bike to apply true load-compensation. The automatic version of the BMW R1300GSA is an excellent bit of kit that I’ d recommend to the majority of riders looking for a big ADV. For most riders it’ ll be a stunning machine. There are some bits around the edges that will frustrate some riders, which seem to stem from someone on the design team overthinking the electronics, but at its heart the base bike is truly excellent, phenomenal even, and I don’ t say that lightly.
