DIRT NEWS

GAJSER FEELING BLUE

Another five-time FIM World Champion to switch colour schemes is 29 year-old Tim Gajser. Joining the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory GO Team for 2026. His reputation within his previous team at Honda remains intact and the Honda team had only good things to say about him and wish him the very best, just short of winning because they intend to do that themselves... It is a season with a few key signings to different teams in the high-stakes musical chairs game that is the rider pool in MXGP. Tiga, as the Slovenian ace is known to his fans, stormed through the European ranks before taking the world on and making similar strides, showing the rest that he could tackle the very best. He would have had six titles but a fall last season saw him watching from the sidelines and even then, his dominant start to the season meant it took ten full rounds with him not at the gate for his lead to be whittled away. Now fully fit and 100 percent recovered, Tiga is wanting to set things back into order with his new team and new machine.

HONDA MAKE A STATEMENT WITH LATEST SIGNING

If you are going to sign a rider to your team, who better to sign on the dotted line than the winningest rider in MXGP history, none other than the Dutch star, Mr Jeffrey Herlings? Sure, he won’ t have much time to come to grips with a new team and a new bike but... Jeffrey Herlings... If there was ever a rider who could be competitive on any bike in the pits, whether he had sat on it before or not, Herlings is that man. Starting with the 85cc FIM Junior title in 2008, Herlings has bagged five FIM World titles, won an incredible 112 GPs and shows no signs of slowing down in the near future. You’ d have to be a gambler to even consider betting against Herlings adding to that impressive record as he rides with red and HRC at his back for 2026.
