Yes, it might look similar and they have very similar horsepower at 105hp for the HP2 and 109 for the R12. It’ s also 30kg heavier. No, the riders who’ ve been waiting( impatiently) for a new HP2 Enduro are looking at the wrong bike, no matter how much they want it to be. On the other hand, the R12G / S is a lot more sophisticated, having a good deal more tech. Things like cruise-control, heated grips, tyre
pressure monitoring, riding modes, switchable ABS( rear off) and traction control( on and off) are things not heard of in HP2 days. One bug bear I do have is the RG / S doesn’ t have a fuel gauge. BMW say this is to keep it in keeping with its retro design... but, it still offers cruise control etc. It does have a low fuel light though, which is some help.
