brakes to do the mahi here and they’ ve dialled this in great. Hard braking produced an exceptional quick response, and it inspired more confidence again. I recently rode the Harley Breakout for a TV show, slow, and I found the Indian’ s weight distribution and balance to be just as good, if a trifle heavier still. My fears of back-breaking suspension vanished with the plushness of the ride experience. In terms of delivery this is a high-end product, the finish on the wheels, the lustre and quality of the paint and chromework, and the design and aesthetic is top notch, and deserves its premium price tag. This is a lot of bike for the buck- absolutely faultless in delivery, style, and quality.
OLD MEETS NEW There’ s a world of technical wizardry at play here that comes as standard with the Powerplus 112 platform. From maps on the big 7-inch colour screen, to music controls, and info galore as well as a host of rider aids including Bike Hold Control, Combined ABS, Blindspot warning, Tailgate warning, Rear Collision Warning, Smart Lean and Cruise Control. It has a couple of analogue gauges up top, and it’ s nice to see them retained. I warmed also to the proximity warning indicators- alerting the rider to vehicles either side in the mirror blind spots – by illuminating unmissable strips in the mirrors. I was even more surprised, when a hasty van approached my rear, to see a red mist creep up from the bottom of the screen. I wondered what the hell was wrong until I realised it was a Tailgate / rear incursion warning. These safety aids are a real benefit in my view( pun intended), great stuff. I really like the simplicity of the colour screen and electrics.‘ Road’ button gives you all the ride details, gas mileage, trips etc.‘ Map’ button brings up a very clear displayed map, full screen. The central button gives ride choice – sport, standard, or rain modes. Phone delivers usual connectivity and apps, and the music button give links to sources and stations for radio etc. All are touch screen capable and the system is clear and intuitive.
