Outlier, is a bold, no f #$% s given creation that sees the company looking at a whole new direction, rather than simply swap an ICE for an electric motor. Looking at it, the futuristic style and bucket seat may not appeal to us traditional motorcyclists at all – but that is exactly the point. It has the rider further back, lower to the ground and as far as electronics, it has everything including the kitchen sink( no doubt with a waste disposal and recycling system) thrown at it. It is a hint at the direction they see the leaning EV market heading, not simply electrification. Yuya Tsutsumi, the project leader, usually has the role of morphing designers’ sketches into reality but this time Tsutsumi-San lead the project from pen to prototype without the normal restrictions around the existing marketplace, hence the name Outlier.
