From Gothenburg ( Göteborg ) the road went north along the coast and often we ended up at a cable ferry which took us across to continue the road by land . This provided a great opportunity to enjoy the rocky coastline from the water .

Michael had found a small , but very accomodating rental company based in Hamburg . The bikes we picked up were mainly BMW R1250GS ’, a few KTM 890 Adventures and a couple of brand new Honda NX500s , purchased specifically for our tour . These were well-maintained and perfect adventure bikes for a tour like this .
