SUSPENSION AND BRAKES As far as budget bikes go for suspension quality... I was seriously surprised to find that the suspension adjustment actually works. And really well. The forks are quality, adjustable, KYB items and can be dialled in very easily. I could get a very confident feeling from the front end very quickly. The KYB rear shock feels decent too, certainly no complaints from me. The J. Juan brakes( a subsidiary of braking giant Brembo) serve their purpose. The bike pulls up well and has reasonable feedback at the lever. I’ m not sure how much effect the wrap-around cooling ducts have, but they do look badass, anyhow.
RIDING Hitting the twisties was at the top of my to-do list. Despite the state of our roads, the
SR-R never got out of control, offering superb stability over mid-corner bumps and when on the gas. The standard tyres, CST Migra S3s, suit the bike really well. Soft and sticky in the dry, with a decent feel in the rain. Talking of on the gas, the 675cc three-cylinder motor absolutely howls, with a beautiful intake noise. It’ s addictive and made me want to keep giving it more. I’ d love to hear it with a full exhaust system- it’ d absolutely scream! I found the ergonomics are comfortable, with just enough aggression to help you feel cool but not too much that it hurts your wrists or back [ YMMV, Henry is younger than the average bear- Ed ]. The seat height is a very accessible 810mm, which found comfortable, as i could easily touch the ground. Even though it’ s fairly accessible, shorter riders could find extra benefit from the low seat option CFMOTO offers. This bike would
