Auckland based pilot Trevor Lawson was stoked to be announced the winner of the $ 40,000 Yamaha R6 race bike – a replica of the machine Cormac Buchanan raced to victory in the 2024 NZSBK season. To add to the tale, Lawson is originally from Gore( with 3 RRRs) so loved the concept of the raffle helping a Southland legend like Cormac realise his dreams. Don’ t stay up late waiting to see Lawson competing on the beautiful bike though, his speed bug gets it done in the air and on a pushbike, so not contemplating a late( ish) debut in NZSBK.“ Now, I need to be honest when it comes to the bike blasting around the track and clarify that while I love speed, I am a pilot, not a racer!
