SANDY SIDESHOW Once clear of downtown Lagos, Ademola( GSX- R1000K3), Mikey Bikey( Honda SP1) and Koye( RSV1000) buggered off into the distance almost instantly and were approaching flat out on the straights. I was a little taken aback at the speeds we were doing, and it wasn’ t until the‘ Busa was wound up to an indicated 240km / h that they were starting to be reeled in a little, but as soon as we hit traffic again they were off. It was like nothing I’ d ever seen before, or since. It was traffic busting on a crazy level. The police didn’ t stop the power bikes and there were seemingly no traffic rules, so it was a mad freefor-all. Literally, Mad Max style. At a fuel stop a couple of the guys asked if I could do some wheelies or stoppies for a bit of an entertainment show. I wasn’ t keen to start doing wheel-stands on the Hayabusa but agreed to a few stunts when offered the GSX-
