TECH Technologically, the Hornet SP has chops. This is as good as any supernaked I’ ve ridden. It is not too large a leap to say it is a game-changer for Honda. Why? Well, as mentioned, the engine is basically plucked out of Honda’ s $ 45k Fireblade. So, how does Honda deliver the spec for that $ 23k price? Well, there’ s a few things they don’ t do. You don’ t get cruise control, there are no self-cancelling indicators nor heated grips, and no cornering ABS or cornering TC( as it isn’ t fitted with a six-axis IMU). These things all add significantly to the price of a bike. But, you can get to play with ride choices in the menus, and that’ s enough for me anyway. The bike can feel a little on the small side( but some of that I am sure is coming off a few years with an adventure bike) but that compactness has grown on me over time, and I certainly love the fact that it’ s pretty light at 212kg, and feels
